Blog Candy and Today's Challenge

Hi! This card was made for today's Clean And Simple Challenge: Monochromatic Card.

I'm still trying to catch up on my Christmas Cards. I have been thinking about coloring this poinsettia blue ever since I saw a blue one in the window of my favorite florist last season.

The image was stamped inCote d' Azure. Next, I sponged in Cote d' Azure starting dark in the center and lighter on the edges.. This gave a variation in color and a deep color concentration around the berries/seeds.

The sentiment was stamped in Cote d' Azure.

Only 2 layers, too!

Finished card size: 5" square
Total time to complete: 9 minutes

This card also fits this week's Stampin B's Challenge.

All paper, inks, gemstones and Flourishes images can be found at Mark's Finest Papers.

Recipe:
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers carries Flourishes images: Poinsettia and Boxwood, Holiday Greetings
Papers: Mark's Finest Papers: Snow Storm Smooth
Inks: Palette Inks: Cote d' Azure
Techniques: embossing

Have a GREAT day!
Happy Stampin'!
Faith

I do not usually associate your style with CAS (clean and simple) but you do it BEAUTIFULLY!! It is actually an amazingly DIFFICULT style for someone who likes texture, layers, and embellishments! I can never STOP - just have to add one more thing! So. . . GOOD JOB on the CAS!!

Love you"re choice of color - who would have ever thought of a blue poinsetta? Thanks for sharing, Faith

Sylvia said...

Oh I LOVE the darling blue poinsettia! What a great new style that's Christmassy and yet not overly traditional. I think your clean and simple cards are really fab, if you really look closely, indeed they are simple, but somehow or other you managed to pull off the 'Faith Style' such that a viewer's (or an untrained eye) first impression of it is that it's extremely complicated and time consuming!
