SNEAK PEEK!!!! BLOG CANDY... and...today's challenge!

Hi! This card was made for today's Ways To Use It Challenge: A Faux Feel. Participants were to add elements that were FAUX texture.

I decided that Christmas Borders would be perfect for this technique, as I wanted an Olde World 'feel' with this set.

I sponged in Burnt Umber onto the focal points to create a look of texture. I also used designer paper that had deep colors with washed out areas. I sponged on more Burnt Umber on the papers to get a deeper variation of color.

The image was ink in VersaMark and inked in Burnt Umber and embossed in clear onto Wonderful Watercolor Paper. I colored in the images with an aqua painter and Palette re-inkers. Next, I punched out a MS snowflake and sponged on color for faux texture.

This also fits this week's Stampin' B's Challenge! and the RedDivas Challenge.

All papers, embellishments and Flourishes images will be available on Friday Evening at Mark's Finest Papers.

RECIPE:
Stamps:
Mark's Finest Papers carries Flourishes Images: Chrsitmas Borders, sentiment from Christmas Bouquet
Paper: Mark's Finest Papers: Wonderful Watercolor, Deepest Mahogany, dp: Basic Grey's Wassail
Ink: Palette Ink: Burnt Umber, various re-inkers
Accessories: Mark's Finest Papers carries: gemstones, ribbons, cording
Tools: MS punch, Spellbinders, aqua painter, embossing powder, heat tool
Techniques: embossing, watercoloring with re-inkers, sponging

Have a GREAT day!
Happy Stampin'!
Faith

I'd love to be entered for your blog candy! I'm new to the hobby (obsession?) and have been slowly building up my supplies... this would be a nice boost, I'm sure!

I'm currently doing a giveaway of stocking stuffers for boys... you might see if it's anything suitable for your Markie! ;-)

I love all the layering and the rich colors you have used for this card. When I initially saw this stamp, I thought Nah, too cutesy for me. But the way you have colored with old-world colors really changes the look!
